Description This work is based on a book by the literary award winner Denis Mikan in which he describes how the Serbian emigrant Emil tries to find his home and his identity. Before the war, Emil flees to Vienna at night, where he is now looking for a better job. His friends like moving in student circles and visit readings or parties. Even there they speak in their mother tongue, a language against which Emil gradually develops the same aversion as against the Serbian mentality. He observes his fellow-countrymen and compares them to the Viennese. He simply does no longer want to be like his Serbian friends. Emil starts to formulate his thoughts in German words, so his mother tongue is slowly lost until he does not understand it any longer. This increases his inner conflict and his forlornness, as he does not know where he is at home.
